Yes, we won an incredible award at the ONA15 conference in Los Angeles, for our coverage of the terrible days of the attack against Charlie Hebdo. This was the motivation:
“This news outlet was born just two days before one of the biggest international stories of the year, and the tiny distributed staff of six produced not only a comprehensive and sophisticated accounting of the fast-moving story, but delivered it to an equally distributed audience on multiple platforms. A fascinating first attempt to embrace the fragmented nature of modern media consumption.”
Watching Andy going up onstage to receive the award for all of us felt like landing on the moon. Never in a million years I could have imagined, never in a million years.
